Day 1: Australia–Kyoto
Depart Australia.
Day 2: Kyoto (B)
See sights such as - Kyoto and Nara. Highlights include the Golden Pavilion and Nijo Castle (Nijojo). This afternoon is then free to see the sights.
Day 3: Kyoto - Tokyo (B)
This morning we board the Shin-Kansen bullet train to Tokyo. We are then transferred to the JR local train ‘Yamanote line’ to Osaki Station. Your guide will escort you to your hotel where the evening is free for teacher organised activities.
Day 4: Tokyo (B)
Full day sightseeing tour of Tokyo with the highlight being a visit to the Meiji Shrine.
Day 5: Tokyo (B)
Today is free for teacher organised sightseeing.
Day 6: Tokyo–Australia (B)
This morning you will be transferred to Narita Airport for your flight back to Australia.
Day 7: Australia
Arrive home.

Day 1: Australia – Tokyo
Please meet at the airport for your international flight to Tokyo, Narita. On arrival enjoy the highlights including the Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise shopping street.
Day 2: Tokyo – Iwate – Tanohata (BD)
This morning we are transferred to Iwate by JR local train followed by the JR bullet train. On arrival in Morioka you will have time for sightseeing with the opportunity to visit the Statues of the 500 Disciples of Buddha. You will then be transferred to Tanohata, staying in dormitory accommodation and enjoying a welcome ceremony and dinner.
Day 3 – 8: Tanohata Junior High School (BLD)
The next 6 nights you will stay at the dormitory of Tanohata Junior High School. You will have the opportunity to participate in classroom activities with the local students.
Day 9: Iwate – Tokyo (B)
This morning you will depart Tanohata Junior High School and catch the local train to Morioka, followed by JR train to Tokyo. On arrival, you will take the train (Yamante line) to your hotel where you will stay overnight.

Day 10: Tokyo – Australia (B)
This morning is free for last minute sightseeing before transferring to Narita Airport for your flight back to Australia.
Day 11: Australia
Arrive home.
